The Bus
The 'Bus' was one of City Mine(d)'s first international exchange projects: bringing over an old public transport bus to Barcelona for an artistic intervention.
During Bruxelles 2000, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel - V.U.B. (Free University of Brussels) took part in the 'Crossing Brussels' project. Three buses, transformed into mobile interactive areas, crossed back and forth through stopping in various parts of the capital. In June 2002, the V.U.B. offered its last bus to City Mine(d) so that it could continue to serve as a project vehicle. We knew that Las Agencias, which City Mine(d) had invited to Brussels for the BruXXel project, was looking for a bus to carry out a project in various Spanish cities. The bus continued its unusual journey to Barcelona for the YOMANGO project which was a part of CCCB's (Centro Cultural Contemporana de Barcelona) Inn Motion project. Afterwards, the Bus became an action tool for several Spanish activist groups, in their manifestations or as a multi-media mobil meeting centre.
